Congratulations on the book deal, Leanne! I completely understand your impulse to call your mother. I feel that pull to call mine whenever I have news to share. She’s not been gone that long - four years - and we finally got rid of our landline a few months ago. I really missed her calling me on it.
First off, major congratulations on your book deal! I hope I’m in your shoes one day. Secondly, the passages about your mom moved me to tears. Thank you for sharing that piece about your experience
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. And I totally relate to wanting to call your mom. Mine made it to 62, but that wasn't nearly long enough. I want to share everything with her.
Thanks. Just thanks. For the positive vibes and the encouragement, sure, but mainly for the level-headed way you've approached this victory. This was your expected poutcome, and you've simply had to talk to x amount of publishers before you found the right one. Brilliant. While the rest of us are crying into our lattes at every (inevitable) rejection, you've been resolute in your abilities until the right one came along, like others told you they would.
I know it sounds like I'm talking to myself (and I am), but this is what most of us need to hear, I don't doubt.
Thank you so much, Stuart. I love this comment. But believe me, there was plenty of crying into lattes! :) It is definitely a numbers game to a large extent, and we just have to keep going until we find our person.

Thank you, Sara. We can never have enough time with our moms. I miss mine every day.
Sorry you lost your mum. Congrats on your book deal.
Thank you, Annie. That means a lot.
Welcome
Wow! Congratulations! I miss my mom every day.
Thank you, Debra! I still miss my mom every day, too. That never stops.
